Celtic Dreams© Jacket Pattern

Romance Lives On...

Our Celtic Dreams semi-fitted jacket pattern has graceful princess lines, a peplum, and Celtic motifs on the back, sleeves, and high-hip line. The purple version has pin-tucks running down the front sections and cross-hatch pin tucks across the main back section. Sewing Skill Level 3.

See when making it, I knew the dye would float to the top of the pin tucks and give a more dramatic look; you dye your fabric after creating the pin tucks. Books-on-Tape helped save my sanity when working on all those the pin tucks.

Now the second version is made from a mid-weight denim. Instead of using bias strips for the Celtic motifs, I used a very wide satin-stitch with black rayon thread. The difference between the two versions is pretty amazing. Same pattern, same pieces, and a completely different look! The clasp on the denim version is a release hook from the hardware store. I do so love to play with my things...
